For those who many not know me as well as others, you need to know that I love change. As a little kid my favorite saying, and it became my motto was, "I like it alot, and I just can't wait." Imagine Calvin (Calvin and Hobbes) and the beanie hat series of comics.
This constant drive for change has been an ever present friend in my life. Meghan can attest to the fact that we can be in the middle of a change and then I'll get another great idea for change in my head, and I'll want to do it right now.
But recently I've been trying to harness this trait into something more substantial than rearranging rooms or getting the latest video game. I have been actively examining myself, and changing my negatives, or at least finding positives in my negatives and bringing out the positives.
In the last month I've been changing our family to be gluten and processed food free. It's been one of the most exciting changes in recent memory. The ultimate goal is to be eating local, but that's a long term goal. In the mean time as a family we are watching where our food comes from and questioning what is in it. Basically as a rule of thumb...if you don't know what's in your food, or where it's been, then don't eat it. Eating whole foods basically means for us just eating, cooking, baking, consuming only things which are in their original state, or combined with other original state items.
All of us are feeling healthier, our palettes are being awakened, and we are becoming more educated about how food is prepared for us. The kids wanted kiwi's from nofrills last week, and I pointed out that they were from new zealand...THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD!
Heather, we don't have that book, and would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have it.

p.s. I have to personally thank my mom and dad, oma and opa, and pake and grandma for being amazing examples to me in living and eating naturally. Thank you for living this life with me when I had no idea what I was doing. Things like Cooking and Baking from Mom, Gardening from Opa and Mom, Fixing/camping/photography/videoography, solo (personal best) sports from Dad, and living simply and within your means (Oma, Opa, Pake, Grandma, Mom and Dad).
